Curam Care Home Navan Road
Location: Navan Road, Dublin
Description: This large scale (7, 728 sq.m.) residential care home comprises a 144-bed facility, four storeys high (with part Basement) designed with the overriding mandate briefing to “sit in the heart of the community”. It required an extremely detailed Design Statement at Planning Stage, setting out the full design rationale along with its contextual relationship with surrounding
development. It brings with it over a decade of highly developed and refined architectural design expertise specifically in the Nursing Home sector
Although this care home project is an example of a large scale specialist residential care setting, it demonstrates our ability to work as part of a mutli-disciplinary design team (incl. External Civil/Structural Engineer, M&E
Consultant, Quantity Surveyor, Acoustic Consultants, Archaeologist) and, in our combined Project Management role, coordinating all of same.
It also brings out the need for adaptability in design to cater for not just
differing needs for different users, but indeed how need itself can evolve and change within the individual over the passage of time. This serves as a very informative knowledge base for more general residential design and the
importance of being able to design in a degree of usage adaptability.
Role: Full Architectural Services, Project Managers, Fire Safety Consultant and Disability Access Consultant
