Church Restoration/Maintenance
Location: Rathangan, Wexford
Description:
Church maintenance is a very particular field and must be handled with particular sensitivity as, typically, such structures, represent some of the finest examples of surviving architecture from bygone centuries, in which case we have a duty of care not to detract from their historical, architectural or social merits.
In this case, we were engaged to carry out a close-up inspection of the roof and steeple from top to bottom (both internally and externally) and duly come up with remedial proposals that are compatible with the materials and construction techniques employed in the original structure.
As well as looking back in time and duly procuring appropriate conservation guidance, we are also forward looking by bringing our more up-to-date experience in making upgrading recommendations appropriate to the modern era with the likes of lighting and heating installations, etc.
