History

The architectural origins of the practice date back to 1983 when Joseph J. Fox established his own Architectural Practice in Wexford town. Two decades later in 2003 he teamed up with  John L. Mahon who had been in private practice as a Consulting Engineer in Wexford since 1994.

Mahon | Fox was formally amalgamated as a limited company in 2003, bringing with it a wealth of experience in the fields of both architecture & engineering starting with the two main partners, Joseph J. Fox and John L. Mahon. Under their leadership the practice grew with addition of new staff members with wide ranges of expertise and qualifications (including RIAI, C.Eng/F.I.E.I, C.I.O.B. and C.I.A.T. accreditations). 

In 2019 Jonathan J. Murphy became a company director having started his career with Mahon | Fox in 2003. Jonathan left the company in 2009 to pursue his Masters degree in Architecture, graduating from UCD in 2015. Jonathan went on to work with Howely Hayes Architects until he rejoined the practice in 2019.

In 2021 Shane Maguire became a company director after rejoining Mahon | Fox in 2018. Shane began his career with Mahon | Fox originally in 2003 before leaving the company to study architecture in Glasgow School of Art. Shane became a registered architect in 2015 and is a member of the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland
